UROC has a new trailer! After years of faithful service, our old trailer has just become too small for us. This has been an issue for a few years now and it has made it a real challenge getting our equipment setup and torn down at each launch. Luckily, we came across a deal that was just too good to pass up so UROC is now the proud owners of a 8 x 12 foot "Finish Line" brand trailer. The trailer has a door on the side of it as well as a drop down back door that allows us to walk right inside up the ramp. The unit is tall enough to stand up in and has plenty of room to haul all of our equipment.
Thanks to very generous donations provided to us by long time members Alan and Brad Overmoe as well as Frank and Dot Hunt and the expected sale of our existing trailer, the trailer will cost us a mere $500.00 of our general club funds. Next time you see Alan, Brad, or the Hunts, make sure to tell them "Thanks" for their support of the club. We could not have the equipment and infrastructure that we have without these folks.
In order to get the equipment moved over into the new trailer, we are holding a workshop Saturday, April 3rd at Neal's house. (5352 West 6600 South) starting at 10:00am. We'll be deciding the best way to load the gear and building any special structures within the trailer we need to keep our equipment clean, organized, and easy to load/unload. Any help you can provide is welcome. If you have any extra lumber, fixtures, or anything else that might be of use in the trailer that you don't want anymore, bring it and we'll see if we can use it.
Finally, we had thought of having a "VERY" informal pot luck while we're working. So, if you'd like to bring any meat to barbeque for yourselves and perhaps a side dish of somekind to share we can have a little fun while we're working. You don't need to do this if you don't want to so don't let that keep you away from coming.
