It's Time to Fly!

Okay... We have all waited long enough. It's time to fly some rockets! The Utah Rocket Club's May Launch and Pioneer 06 Competition are expected to go as planned. The range will be open around 9:00am (Depending on how much help there is to set up).

In addition to being the first large sport launch for the year, this is also the month for the Pioneer '06 Regional meet which is an NAR Sanctioned Regional Competition. Events include:

"A" Parachute Duration
"C" Streamer Duration
"C" Boost-Glider
"D" Egg-Loft Altitude
Open Spot Landing

Science Fiction Sport Scale

In order to compete in the contests, you must be a current member of the NAR. Egg-Loft Altitude will be flown within a time-window on Saturday. Turn-in for Scale will be by 5pm on Saturday.

If you haven't signed up to help with range duty yet, please do so. We need every slot filled or there will be times that the launch may close down until such a time that all positions are filled. Sign-Up for Range Duty

A porta-potty has been ordered and should be on site for the duration of the launch. Weather is a bit of a concern, according to NOAA...

Saturday:
Partly cloudy. Thunderstorms in the afternoon. South wind 17 mph. High 90.

Saturday Night:
Partly cloudy. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening. South wind 18 mph. Low 63.

Sunday:
Partly cloudy. Thunderstorms in the afternoon. South wind 18 mph. High 91.

Sunday Night:
Partly cloudy. Slight chance of thunderstorms. Low 62.

As always, check this website just prior to heading out. Any cancellations or notices will be posted here as soon as possible. See you on the range!
