Put'em Up!

UPDATE "I guess we have not appeased or paid homage to mother nature. In spite of the outlook that it is going to be very windy, I will be out there and we will set up at least a minimal launch range. It does look like the weather will be nicer on Sunday. - Bruce Bell, Pres."

What a long, hot, rocketless summer it has been... With the cool air moving in, it's also time to move some cool rockets into the sky. It's time to put'em up guys and gals!

The scheduled September 15 launch at the Pony Express Test Range will be taking place as planned. The weather forecast looks to be in our favor and promises to be nice.

The expected highs for the weekend are in the 80s with very low chance of precipitation until Monday afternoon. As always, early morning and late afternoon launches are least likely to encounter winds so come prepared, although, September is usually pretty mild in terms of winds out there.

President Bruce Bell has arranged for a Porta-Potty to be onsite for the launch and as always, donations to Dotty's Potty fund will be appreciated.

Bruce also spoke with UROC's BLM contact and recieved notification that the fire restriction would be lifted in time for us to fly.

We have not received confirmation on whether Sunday, the 16th will be held as a Tripoli Research Launch yet or not. If the Research Launch is approved it will allow people with Tripoli Level 2 and above to fly Experimental motors as well as other research projects. Only Tripoli Level 2 and above will be allowed to fly on Sunday if the Research Launch is in place. As soon as that information is provided we'll post it here.

As always, request UROC members to volunteer their assistance in setting up early on Saturday morning, and tearing down on Sunday afternoon. We will also need folks throughout both days for LCO, RSO, and PAD manager. When the call goes up for help, please give an hour of your time so that others can enjoy the launch too.

Because of HellFire 13's year-long postponement there are bound to be some great projects flying at this launch. This is probably a launch not to be missed.

As always, everyone is welcome at this Utah Rocket Club Launch and there is no charge to attend as a spectator. Non-UROC flyers will need to pay a small range duty fee $3.00 to fly. Please contact us with any questions.
