BYU Competition Rocket To Fly at PETR Featured

ImageLongtime UROC Member Mike Jarvis has been feverishly working as part of a BYU student team that is building a rocket for an upcoming inter-collegiate competition sponsored by NASA.

The rocket is scheduled to fly its maiden flight at the Pony Express Test Range during the May Sport Launch. The BYU rocket is 9 feet tall and 6 inches in diameter.

The craft's initial power source will be a L1115 (very near full 'L' motor). According to Mike, they are hoping to launch around noon.  Their projected altitude on this initial flight is 7500ft.

Good luck guys!
