UROC 2011 Officer Nominations (Updated) Featured

voteIt is time to begin the process of electing your UROC officers for 2011. This yearly election is the way for you to voice your opinion on how the club should proceed in the upcoming year. If you have ever considered helping out with a position in UROC, this is an excellent opportunity to do so.

In 2009 it was decided that we would hold elections earlier into the year so that the new officers could watch/learn from the existing officers for several months prior to taking on the full responsibilities of their new positions. This is in hopes of providing a better transfer of knowledge between the old and new officers. By giving the new officers an opportunity to work alongside the current officers for a time, better continuity between the old and new administrations will be realized.

Nominations will open at the September 13 General Club meeting and will continue up to the elections at the October meeting. If you are unable to attend the upcoming meeting but have a nomination you'd like to make, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your nomination. The prospective nominee will be contacted and will be given the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination. Again, the new officers will work alongside the current officers for the remainder of 2010. The new officer's actual appointments will begin during the January 2011 UROC Member's meeting.

Keep in mind that anyone that is running for any of the positions will be expected to make some kind of brief statement regarding their qualifications and plans if elected during the meeting. If a nominee cannot be at the meeting but still wants to run for an office they should provide (through private messaging or email) their phone information to the president. This is so the nominee can be contacted during the elections to present their platform. The 2011 UROC officer elections will include elections for the above positions and will take place on Monday, October 11, at 7:00pm. They will be held in room N1100 of the Salt Lake County Complex (2001 S State).
