April 2011 Activities Featured

The April UROC member’s meeting is 7pm on Monday, April 11th at the Salt Lake County Government Complex. This month we’ll review safety, discuss what to buy with our Tripoli grant, discuss HellFire cancer research fundraiser ideas and contest ideas for HellFire.

Besides trying to get a rocket closest to 5,000 feet without going over and guessing how HOT the porta-potty gets on the salt flats, what else would you like to do better than your fellow competitors? Suggestions will be discussed with the group, so please come ready to geek out talking to friends about rocketry.

The April sport launch will be the following Saturday, April 16th at Frank Hunt Field. I know a bunch of guys itching to launch, so hopefully the weather will cooperate. This launch will feature plenty of adorable scouts. There will be a porta-potty so remember cash to deposit after you make a “deposit”.

Lastly, Facebook, in its ever changing evolution, has removed the check mark I was using to invite the UROC Facebook group to group events already created. I am no longer able to invite everyone in the Facebook group to the events. Instead, I’ve added an events tab on our Facebook group page. All of our meetings and launches for the rest of the year are listed there. Please invite yourself if you’d like these events in your Facebook events. If you RSVP, you will also be notified if an event is cancelled.
