About this event
The Utah Rocket Club (UROC) is excited to confirm our November Launch is GO for Saturday, November 16.
Schedule:
- Equipment Arrival: 8:00-9:00 AM.
- Launch Start: Following setup, weather permitting.
Weather Outlook:
- Temperature: High of 39°F
- Precipitation: 65% chance, light snow possible.
- Cloud Cover: 95%
- Wind: NW at 5 mph, gusts up to 10 mph.
Important Note:
FAA rules prohibit launching through more than 50% cloud cover, which may limit our activity.
Recommendations:
- Arrive early: Be on-site by 9:00 AM and ready to launch.
- Be prepared: Have rockets and flight plans organized. An abbreviated range setup is likely. If you’re flying a certification flight, bring your NAR or Tripoli certification form. For Level 2 tests, bring a pen, clipboard, and inform the prefect or NAR advisor. They’ll assist as they’re able.
- Check this site before heading out: It is possible that the weather may turn out even worse, if that's the case, we could still cancel the launch. Please check this website PRIOR to driving out.
This launch will be held as a Tripoli launch under the Tripoli Unified Safety Code. You must be a current/active member of either Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) or the Renew or Join at uroc.org.
Kids 18 and under can fly Model Rockets with the direct supervision of an adult that is a Tripoli or NAR member and a current member of UROC. You can find more details about this here. https://tripoli.org/insurancefaq
Registration cost for this event is included in your membership in UROC. There will be no additional costs to attend.
As always, we will need help running the launch, RSO, LCO, pad managers and lots of help setting up and tearing down the range. We do have a Porta Potty ordered for this launch. Set up is expected to begin around 8:00 am and we will fly into the early afternoon or until the wind gets to be too strong and if the weather permits. If the weather conditions for the upcoming launch deteriorate or if the fire hazard becomes too high, we will try to notify everyone via our normal modes including the website and facebook.
No "Sparky" motors of any kind will be allowed!
